Answer:
hi mate

the amd64 processors were and still are a decent main stream processor and equivelent in performance to a 2.6gz/3.0ghz pentium 4 processor(hyper threaded)

most pc,s built around 2005/6 were built using the amd athlon64 mainly because they were cheaper than the pentium 4,s and performance wise around the same

the amd athlon64 3000 is a decent processor and still capable of running todays games and applications, however detail turned down

another good thing about the athlon64 processors is they run cooler than the pentium 4,s and were more overclockable than them aswell

good luck mate !

Answer:
AMD processors aren't that up to date to handle all the stuff that Computers require these days.

They are rubbish to be completely honest!

Go for something with Intel Core two Quad, and a Processor speed of 2,4GHz plus or more with other features.

This will mean it can handle allot of applications, and has enough spec to be upgraded in the future.

Answer:
It was definitely good in its day & is still perfectly capable (with the help of a decent graphics card such as the 7600GT) of playing games like COD4 and Rainbow Six Vegas 2. I had both of those running, albiet at medium settings, at a decent gaming pace on my AMD 64 3000 system.

My (old) personal Specs:

AMD 3000 processor

Nvidea 7600GT 512mb AGP

1GB of RAM

Windows XP Home

It was perfectly capable of running both of those games without any difficulties!

Answer:
Pretty slow by today's standards, but more than capable of running standard applications.

Answer:
not for a modern day pc as it is only 1.8ghz single core just about enough to run xp properly
