hi phil
well done, thats a excellent selection of components up to now, however i am a bit concerned about the geforce 8500gt,mainly due to the quality of the other components
for just £34 you can get the nVidia GeForce 8600GT 512MB from http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Component… has a 540mhz core clock and 512mb of GDDR2 Memory running at 1400MHz ,these are decent speeds and give the card a capable 22.4gb/sec memory bandwidth
also the XFX GeForce 8600GTS 256MB(http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Component… a excellent bit of kit, with a 675mhz core clock and 256mb of ddr3 memory running at a massive 2000mhz this is a excellent gaming card for a reasonable price
and finally the MSI GeForce 8600GT 256MB Overclocked PCI-E from http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Component… is a factory overclocked card with some decent speeds.including a 580mhz core clock and a 800mhz memory clock
back to the other components,as for a hard drive many enthusiasts use raptor high spin scsi drives, these have very fast seek speeds(3ms) and enable faster data access which can be handy when gaming, however they dont come cheap,a 32gb raptor drive costs around £90
processors are dropping in price and allthough the core 2 duo,s and quad processors are all the rage i much like the amd phenom range, these are pound for pound as good if not superior than the intel range
one such processor is the AMD Phenom Quad 9950 2.6GHz (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Component… the AMD Phenom Quad 9850 Black Edition 2.5GHz(http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Component… are both excellent processors and the best choice for gamers, and the price is reasonable aswell
i hope this has helped however any problems let me know
good luck mate !

Your other components aren't shabby so why are you skimping on the graphics card? Look at either an 8800GT or a HD 4850, they're both great cards for their price, and way way better than an 8500GT.
As for you wanting a quad core, just go for the lowest model, the Q6600, it's actually the same chip as most of the higher clocked versions, so it's a great deal if you know how to overclock and what you're doing. Do bear in mind that most games at the moment only use up to two cores, not all four, though this should change in the future.
The hard drive doesn't really matter so much, just make sure you're going with a good brand, like western digital, maxtor, samsung or seagate etc. A 500GB drive is relatively cheap these days, and should provide enough storage for any average user, just make sure it's a 3.5″ SATA.
Answer:
1) That’s a very bad case, very weak and shitty looking.
2) old board using old chipset, not even pcie 2.0
3) Corsair Ram is garbage
4) Good PSU
5) I’ve no idea what that is
6) I have no idea what that’s
7) horrid vid card. 8500gt is a hometheater type videocard and not for gaming
Games arent supporting quad cores, and for a gaming machine its a waste of money, and you cant purchase budget hard drives, just get a seagate, most reliable hard drive on the market, and unless you want your system crashing because of a bad hard drive i dont suggest anything else lol.
my 2 cents ![]()

Looks good
PLZ Ditch the 8500GT they are crap.. I've had one before and it isnt good even for budget gaming.
go for a 9600GT which u can get around $115 - $220
they’re good cards for price to performance
Also the person who said games arnt supporting quadcore cpu's is absoutly right.. go for a high end duel core cpu
