Hi Phil
I think what you are trying to state that your computer is running slow.
Here are a few things you can do:
Keep your personal updated with Microsoft update make sure you’ve SP2 installed. Make sure you have good anti-virus and spy/malware programs installed. Do regular disk clean up .Examine disk fragment and defragment when needed. Use a storage device to store files. (IE: Secondary HDD) You can download this program for free Belarc Advisor from
http://www.belarc.com and is totally safe This program will tell you nearly everything about your computer If you’ve all critical updates installed If your anti-virus is working correctly.
You may need more Ram (memory) Belarc Advisor will tell you how much Ram you’ve installed.
The 530 has a minimum ram of 512mb and can be upgraded up to 4gb of Ram
If you need more help come back or email.
Good Luck

From your description you might be indicating that the hard drive has faults or is failing. Try running disk error checking (MY COMPUTER, Right click hard drive, Left click TOOLS, Check both boxes & OK). This will scan drive for errors on the next reset. The results should help you descide if the hard drive is faulty and in need of replacing http://www.trilogicuk.co.uk
