however if you are gaming you may want Core 2 Quad

I wouldn't go immediately for quad processors. dual cores are already great for anything (games, music, performing tasks) and they've gotten cheaper since quad cores have arrived. i'd be happy with dual core processors

for RAMs the best would be 2GB especially if you're gonna run Windows Vista since it'll be eating half of it.

I would say a dual core at 3.0 ghz.

At least 2 gig of DDR2.

Windows Vista Ultimate.32 bit or 64 bit.
