Posted on September 21st, 2008 in Desktop Computer |
Hey guys,
I really want to make my own 'gaming' Computer, can any suggest any really good pieces, at reasonable prices?
I want a kick *** Personal computer, that can handle all the latest games, but something that’s not high-priced!
Parts with sites would be helpful
thanks

hi phil
custom building a gaming rig can be excellent fun and with so much hardware to select from you can really go to town
the main components in a gaming pc you need are the processor, and for top performance i would go for the AMD Phenom Quad 9950 2.6GHz (Retail AM2 )(http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Component… is a excellent processor and for gaming its much prefered over the intel chips, and much cheaper aswell
for the motherboard you should go for the XFX nForce 750a GeForce 8200 Socket AM2 Motherboard (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Component… sli pci-express interfaces and support for amd phenom quad core cpu,s this is the motherboard for you,and it also supports 240-pin DDR2 Single or Dual Channel memory up to a maximum of 8gb
and to fill those memory banks you should go for the GeIL 8GB PC2-6400 C5 Black Dragon (4×2GB)(http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Component… is breathtaking memory and at 800mhz it will make light work of allmost everything
for the graphics i have gone for two “XFX GeForce 9600GT 'XXX AlphaDog Edition' 512MB PCI-E” (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Component… are excellent cards and with a 740mhz core clock and 512mb of ddr3 memory on each card running at 2000mhz these will fly through all your games at maximum frame rates
other components that will help the overall performance of a gaming p.c are a decent hard drive such as the 320Gb Western Digital WD3200AAKS SATA (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Component… and for brilliant sound the Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer(http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Component… a excellent soundcard
lets be honest here these components are pricey however for a top gaming rig you want and need the ideal hardware and this stuff is exactly that
and finally you need a case and for gaming there can be only one,the Antec Twelve Hundred Ultimate Gamer(http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Component… the follow on to the nine hundred version and has probally the ideal cooling you will find in any gaming case, this is a top case to home some top hardware
i hope this helps and any problems let me know
good luck mate !
