Windows XP, Home Media.

Only just starting doing this, it starts to boot up and doesnt display the Hard Drives loading up. When it displays the Windows Loading screen for a few seconds the screen goes black and you are unable to do anything else. If i try and press Ctrl S For the set-up, after a few seconds it again goes to a black screen.

If there are any other experiences of this being fixed, all information would be grateful.

Answer:
Turn it off then remove the battery and the charger cord from your system. Then with all that out push the on and hold for 30sec.

Then replace the battery and other items and It should restart correctly.

If this fails clean out fan(s) and look for anything out in the open that you would think causing it to malfunction or not start up correctly.

If you can fix it with this help or other answers I would advocate you take it to a computer shop or the manufacture.

Answer:
Its not clear if this is a display problem ie a fault with the screen or a windows problem. If it's an LCD display is there a faint image at all if so it sounds as if the back light or inverter gone, post back with more info. If its a separate display try it on another Personal computer if possible

Otherwise begin in safe mode and select last known good configuration and see if that helps
