Is Open Office completely compatible with Word? If I type something will people with Word be able to open it?

To save all your files in Microsoft format
In OpenOffice
• Click Tools
• Click Options
• Click Load/Save
Select Microsoft Office
• Check all the S boxes.
• Click OK

yeah as long as you’re careful how you save it everything will be readable. there are some minor formatting differences between current ooo and current msword, but nothing that would make text inumtelligible. more a matter of aesthetics.

If you save it in OpenOffice as a .rtf or .doc file, then yes, it will open in word with no problems.
