Would I see any realistic difference between 2GB and 3GB of RAM memory in my Windows Vista pc?

Answer:
only if you’re a heavy user.

If you use 6 programs at a time together, like listen to music, surf the net (you tube) use word processor and picture application, chat, together then you’ll know the difference.

If you use your pc for word processing and just surfing the net/chating and sometimes listen to music then you need 1gb memory.

If you use one or two programs at a time then 1gb is perfect.

Any pc with more than 2gb is for gaming and multimedia.

Answer these before buying extra ram:

Do you have loads of programmes installed in your Computer?

How much free space you’ve in your main Hard Drive?

How powerful your processor is?

Ram will only make your pc faster if you’ve powerful system. if your system is ordinary and you only have few gigs free hard disk space and you have loads of programs installed then 3gb ram memory wont make much difference.

Service your pc through clearing the system restore stored files (apart from current ones), uninstall unwanted programs and clear your temp files each day, your pc will run smoothly with only 1gb.

Answer:
hi julia

i will be honest with you,the biggest noticeable difference in memory speed is usually from 512mb to 1gb/2gb

however since 2gb is pretty fast you wont see a big improvemnt, but there will be some improvement in specific applications that require additional memory

with windows vista the single biggest hardware difference from xp is the amount of memory that vista requires,so if you get the chance to add any memory to your pc then do it,you can never have enough memory

any problems let me know

good luck julia !

Answer:
Yes you would fine a huge difference in vista performance and aslong as u have got a nice graphics card like a 8500GT, 8600GT or a 8800GT. If your a gamer these are good card when overclocked even better but the 8500GT is good for vista and abit good for gaming when overclocked.

Good Luck

Answer:
Yeah, why not? But still, you will see considerably better performance with an upgraded CPU. You will need more RAM only when you want to multi-task more than the RAM you’ve for. 2 GB is a great amount. I game a lot personally and still, I won't upgrade to more than 2 GB, it is a waste. I know, I would suggest a sure upgrade from 1 gig to 2.

Change the processor, it will be much superior. Purchase an AMD - I know, it's difficult to forget the Intel performance, apparently, but I state, AMD is better.

Answer:
What type of CPU are you using ?

If you are using Core 2 DUO proccessor, I'd suggest you to install win Vista 64 bit and to put 4 GB or RAM in order to see the best results.

if you are using a regular CPU, by adding an extra GB of ram you'll notice a little more improvment.

Answer:
That is similar to asking if you would see difference from having a small house, to having a huge house. Yes, because you’ve more room to store things…

Unless of course if you are a minimalist - and don't store anything - then it wouldn't matter.
