I bought this ram off ebay (i know) here is the url
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?V…
before i purchased it i checked compatibility
I have a Sis chipset and the ram is within my computers max ram limit as we have discussed this morning it's not the memory frequincy thats the reason it's not working iv'e tried the ram on it's own in the correct slot but nothing seems to work what other possible reason is there other than i was ripped off by a geezer on ebay, which happens to the ideal of us at least once.

Try follow these steps.
1) Plug in you RAM and power on your computer. Did your personal BEEP? If YES, you’ve a compatibility problem.
2) Enter your CMOS setup (BIOS). Normally it is done by tapping DELETE (depend on computer). Check if your RAM has the correct value or not. If NOT, it is either the RAM slot defect or faulty RAM.
3) If everything is still OK, exit BIOS (without save anything) and continue boot into Windows. If it hang there = Windows Problem.
Hope that solve you problem.

PS Thanks for remind me NOT to purchase from ebay.

Its hard without knowing the motherboard specs. Did you check how much mb each slot can take? The limit is your total amount of mb you can install (and even that is debatable if the memory controller does not support that amount) Some motherboards can only take 512mb per slot, some can take 1gb etc. SIS are very touchy with compatability
Answer:
run a memtest to check that the ram isn’t faulty as this could be a possibility, failing that take your pc to an expert
