I need to buy a new power supply but i purchased one recently that didnt have the stipulations, i was wondering what do you call these tiny black connectors that are in my DVD Drive and Hard Drive? there quite thin.

Thanks

Answer:
if you are talking about the incompatibility of power supply connector to your drives, you can always but a molex to sata converter just like this:

Answer:
Not sure about your dvd drive but for your hard drive they are 15-pin Serial ATA power connectors. Wafer thin, black slot connectors.

They supply not only 5v but also 3.3v on the same connector allowing a greater scope of flexibility. Most new power supplies will have these, or if you're not sure you can always get converters that convert from the 3 pin Molex connection (usually white) to these new 15 pin SATA connectors (usually black).

Answer:
The Black power connections are SATA connections. Make sure your Power Supply also has the 4 or 6 pin connection for the PCIe graphics card. You would do well to get a modular power supply. They often come with various connectors for new and old motherboards…

On another note, you can get adapters for them. There’s nothing special about the power, just the connection.
