When I got my laptop, it came with windows vista. One thing I really liked about it was the way you could switch windows by pressing a button down on the bottom left of the screen, beside the begin menu. This button would allow you to see all the windows currently open from an angle to the side, kind of hard to explain, but vista users will know what I'm speaking about. Anyway, this button doesn't work anymore. When I click on it, it only grants me to switch windows the same way as if you press Alt Tab. Anyone know how to get it back to the old way? Thanks in advance.

Answer:
hi mate

the windows vista 3d tilted effect or windows switcher requires a up to date video driver supporting pixel and shader model 2.0(minimum)

however its seems your graphic cards driver is either missing or corrupt, which means you need to visit your cards website at the following links

nvidia : http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.asp…

a.t.i : http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.HTML

download and install the appropriate driver and when installed and after you have restarted your laptop go to the themes option and select “vista aero”

the taskbar icon shoudl now re-appear and you should be able to use the “window switcher” again

also for any p.c,s you’ve still using windows xp then why not try “top-desk”from http://www.otakusoftware.com/topdesk/,th… does the same as what vista does, and you can customize the effects which you cannot in vistas version

any problems let me know

good luck mate !
