I've just bought a new Personal computer and there are 2 cds with it which say”blank recovery dvd”. What are these for?
Answer:
They are probably system recovery discs. If you have a serious problem with your pc you need them to reinstall the operating system after clearing your computor hard drivSometimesit is neccesary if you've had a virus or other malware on your computer that can't be removed by other means. Lets hope you never have to use them!
Answer:
They're saving you the couple of bucks to buy DVD's. It probably saves them .04 in costs to not put the recovery information on the DVD's. Over millions of systems, it probably saves em a few hundred thousand a year. Which is about 1/4 of some executives salary
When you get the system all booted up, there will be a menu item or something allowing you to make recovery disks. I recommend doing this BEFORE your system is in bad shape.

Its all in the name!
These are recovery DVD/CD's!
If you mess up your computer with viruses etc, you can use these to re-format or re-install your whole personal which will result in it (software wise) being just like you got it (with no programs on etc)
The DVD's contain all of your essential, Operating system files, installation.
If the backup has not already been made, this means that these are simply DVD's you can use to create your own factory default/recovery point, when you boot up your personal there will be an option somewhere to create the recovery disk/files.
Hope this helps.

Sounds like you've purchased a system that has “Microsoft Windows” pre installed for you
Answer:
When you turn on the computer for the first time it will come up with a thing to make a recovery DVD, so if everything goes wrong you can set it back. The DVD is just blank so you don't need to have one already.
