hi natty
most of the time when windows will only load up in safe mode this normally indicates a driver issue,since safe mode uses no drivers
so the first task i want you to do is (in safe mode) go to add/remove programs and uninstall your video drivers,these will be listed as either “nvidia drivers” or if they’re ati it will be listed as”ati software removal utility”
remove these and then restart the p.c,if windows load then we know it was a corrupt video driver : solution ..download the latest video driver from the appropriate website;
NVIDIA: http://www.nvidia.co.uk/Download/index.a…
A.T.I : http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html
then re-install the drivers,remebering the following a)do not download using any download managers and b)disable any anti-virus software before installing any video drivers
then after all that its not your video drivers then go through the same method but try the audio drivers
alternatively there’s another way,just before safe mode finishes loading you get a option to use system restore,choose this and restore the p.c to before the problem started,windows will then shut down and restore the settings you have chosen
when windows restarts you’ll discover if this has worked,most of the time it does
however the main problem when using system restore is if the problem is caused by malware then the infection will still be there and this has to be sorted,so after the system restore has finished run a “full scan” with your current anti-virus scanner,this will weed out any virus that might be on your hard drive,also run a scan with a anti-spyware scanner aswell such as spybot(http://www.safer-networking.org/en/downl…
finally it would also be a good idea to open your case and clean your cpu fan (and any other case fans) using some compressed air( air duster) as overheating of cpu,s and internal components can also cause system issues such as the type you’re experiencing
any problems let me know
good luck mate !
Answer:
It could be that you’ve just set it in safe mode, in which case go to Start, Run, type 'msconfig', the go to Boot.ini tab and see if '/SAFEBOOT' is selected. If it is then just deselect or go to 'General' tab and choose 'Normal Startup.' Then click 'ok' and say yes to the message if one comes up.
If this doesnt work you could have a major hardward or software fault. You could try re-installing windows but if, as you state, you are not good with personal then i strongly reccomend you take it to get looked at professionally.
Answer:
Try 'system restore' go to start in safe mode, 'all programs' then 'accessories' - 'system tools' and then you click on 'restore system' restore it to yesterday or the last time it was working fine…….. should fix it!
