I am in the U.k (London) and I'm looking for a home Computer for my friend, she will only use it for world wide web, email, word processing, uploading pics etc. usual home stuff really, but she needs a decent amount of RAM and a nice looking flat screen that doesn't take up much room, a desktop rather than a laptop, but doesn't want to pay the earth, she’s no techie so won't use to for complex stuff so doesn't need an utterly sophisticated system, she'd rather save a bit of cash and have a mid range one. however wants a reliable one and not a bottom of the range one that’ll die in 3 months - and won't think about a re-furbished. Repeat - not refurbished considered. can collect or pay for delivery. Any ideas/links to stores (U.K) that are doing good deals at the moment. thanks

Avoid the BIG SHOP in the high street as reliability isn’t their good or strongest word. Don't know if you’re aware of some of the really solid mail order Internet based suppliers, but I would highly suggest EBuyer. You could also try Amazon, Dabs, Saverstore and others, but this is one very good deal! I’ve purchased off EBuyer many times over the last 7 or 8 years, and they are good. Never had any problems with service, delivery or quality.

[Edit: Oops - I was wrong, the monitor is shown in the picture, but not included - devils! - however, it is still an astonishing deal as you can pick up a TFT flat monitor for much less that £100 on the same site, and I paid over £300 for a lesser spec. PC without monitor at Computer World a short while back!]
