Windows xp help?

i formatted my pc a few months ago and during installing xp i got an error message saying one of the files is corupt, now everytime i turn on my pc it wont start unless the xp disk in in the cd drive. Have tried to reformat a few times since but the same things keeps happening. Do i need to purchase a new disk or is there a way to mend this problem?

No-one ever reads the error messages. You said it yourself, your Windows XP Installation disk has one or more corrupt files on it.
Just replace it!
Take it back to the shop and repeat what you stated to us.

Wipe your computer clean, then do a clean install of XP using your disk, that should absolutely fix this problem.

often happens with cd's…even a finger print can stop it replicating files during instalation…try automotive T-CUT..it will pollish out the scratches and just reinstall….

Try cleaning the disc properly first in a CD cleaner and then try it.

u need a new windows software….and then in dos mode u need to uninstall all the previous versions and fix this new one….
