Im on brand new Vista at the moment and as I'm writing this, my mouse pointer has taken on a life of it own !! My vista takes 4 or 5 mins from shut down to actually get on the internet and to show my home page.

And mines the business one !

Even though I only use it for menial tasks it is a true let-down and I spent way tooo much to get it.

I hope in another year or three Vista will have all it's problems resolved…. One can only hope !

I'D GO XP ALL THE WAY

Dont purchase a vista its just not worth it

Dont buy a vista you're not gonna enjoy it.

It'll tear your heart out and eat it.

It'll make you depressed,

It's like that present at Christmas, the one that makes you smile till you open it and plug it in and realize that it's vile.

XP did nothing wrong and I kicked it to the kerb, and now here's my punishment for believing all the Blur.

Atsiv.. doesn't sound so flash. I wish I'd thought things through.

If there's nothing you take from this please believe its true.

That vista doesn't do the job that it was paid to do.

Answer:
XP - at least you can run all the programs you want on it.

Vista is incompatible with my camera software, my printer software, my scanner software, and I've lost one of my chat programs that I used to love. Although I ran the thing that allows you to pick an XP setting to install your old software, I found it didn't work. (Maybe my fault, though).

Apart from that, Vista is great :)

On the plus side, I think I have to be the only one in the world that thinks it's easier to use than XP. You can just use a couple of clicks to find out how to do anything you want to do on it. I like instructions! Now that does impress a techno ignoramous like me.

Ive just installed Vista x64 after using XP, and have to say that Im a bit disappointed. Im running it on a farily fast machine - 6 gig ram, amd x2 4000 cpu, 4860 radeon, and its still sluggish. I wouldnt suggest it unless you’ve a very fast machine and particularly need dx10 (for gaming). Apart from that I seriously dont see any advantage.

Answer:
XP is less confussing then Vista, (just setup my sister new laptop), but Vista does have some eye catching features, so it's a toss up. But for right now I'm just happy using XP. In the future when my computers life is up, then I'll probably go with Vista unless something better comes along.

Answer:
XP XP XP! That's nearly not even a question! Vista is terrible, has UAC which pops up ALL the time unless you disable it, and is SLOW. I downgraded to XP. Unless you want to do some SERIOUS tweaking, get XP. (Or if you’ve like 4 gig ram 4 ghertz processer, then vista may be ok.)
