I searched for Tiffany jewellery in my home town of Perth, as I am looking for an enagagment ring for my GF….and each time I double tap the search box, all past searches come up including the Tiffany one! I want it to be a surprise in a couple of months when we go on holiday. How do I delete past searches? And before you ask, no there aren't any dodgy ones! (It's her computer)

Answer:
To make it easier to comprehend - the history is stored in your web browser, not yahoo/google or any other search engine.

1) First, clear the browsing history

In IE:

Tools > Delete browsing history > Delete All

In Firefox:

Tools > Clear private data

or on your keyboard click Control Alt Delete

…………………………………..

2) Then turn off AutoComplete

In IE:

Tools > Options > Content > AutComplete > Untick all the boxes and then click OK > Click Apply > Click OK

In Firefox:

Tools > Options > Make sure you untick all the history options and tick the option 'clear all my private data when firefox closes' > Click OK

…………………………………..

3) Or download CCleaner. It will completely wipe any browsing/search history from your hard drive.
