Twice now I’ve had a blue screen appear on start up, advising me to shut down and saying that the problem is either a newly installed driver or software. I used Device Manager to try and diagnose the problem It brought up an 'Other Devices' message, and pointed me in the direction of RAID controller. Is this likely?

I installed a new keyboard a week ago and Libra (database software which often crashes)

Answer:
A raid Controller is a hardware device or software configuration that manages 2 or more disks at once. They’re usually deployed on servers for combining disks to provide more space redundancy or both. How these disks are combined is called raid and there are lots of different types identified by name and or number. Raid 0 is just disks added together to provide more space. Raid 1 is also known as a mirror, this as the name suggests mirrors the data onto 2 disks. Other configurations include 5 which spreads data between disks.

I suspect the issues could be the keyboard or the DB software, I would check the vendors website for the issue. If there is nothing similar I would recommend installing to see if the issue goes away. If it does you can contact the keyboard manufacturer for support.

Answer:
A RAID controller is a chip either on your motherboard or on an add-in card that allows you to use 2 or more hard drives in an array (Google for RAID for in depth info).

If this is the problem, then go to your machine or motherboard manufacturers website support and download the latest motherboard and RAID drivers, and reinstall them.
