i need to purchase one but i want to get a mini portable one any of the ones on ebay.com any good at a reasonable price?
Answer:
I highly advocate
www.play.com
Reasons being that people on ebay advertise as a 500gb external hard drive
And you buy it and get something that is way smaller like 250gb
Play.com does astonishing prices and very trust able international shipping as well and free delivery.
I know ebay prices are tempting but do not make the mistake i made i advocate
WD as a external hard drive as i have 3 external hard drives all from that company ranging from 250GB-1TB.

I bought a very good one - Freecom 160gb 2.5″. It has no fan and is quiet, and is quite slim. The price was (for the time) a reasonable £65.00 on Amazon. I am not keen on eBay after being stiffed a few times.
LaCie do some very one-of-a-kind drives, from ones that look like a Lego brick to their 'Rugged' model which is waterproof and bash-proof.
My advice - you can't go far wrong with Freecom, but it depends on the capacity you want. Also, if you need big capacity, maybe invest in a wireless hard drive so any computer in the hous can access it…?
EDIT:- My Freecom runs off USB, and does not require an additional power source.

hey, i really dont know much about computer besides what i need and how much it costs. i went on Overstock.com and they the WD mini books 160gb and i purchased it for like, 60 bucks. it was refurbished, but in all honesty, why do i need a brand new one from out the box?! it worked perfectly and it was easy to use. i knew it was mini when i purchased it, but it is sooo tinny!!! i think its sooo adorable :). it literally fits in a back pocket. its like the size of an iphone just a bit thicker. and its 160 gb which a good amount of space. and for the price, you really cant go wrong. i have tonnss of songs on it, tons of pictures, maybe like, 25 movies, and i think ive only used about 22gb (not sure on the number). it is pretty simple to use; if i can use it, anybody can. and yea! so check out overstock.com and see if they have anything there, and of course there’s always ebay. im not a fan of the bidding process, but if they have a buy it now for abotu 60- 70, go for it.
