numerous ways of doing it but if you are using windows xp then you can right click on my computer and choose manage and go to disk management and right click on the 1gb sd card and choose erase.

Short of that you can open the sd memory card and press ctrl and A to select all and delete and drag and drop to the recycle bin and empty the recycle bin.

You may also be able to right click on the memory stick in my personal and select erase or format.

Depends on operating system and how you want to do it.

Answer:
Like the other answers, u simply right click on the card when it pops up in my personal after inserting it and click on format.

What companies dont tell you is that ull never get a full 1gb card even tho it states it is. All storage devices shave off some disc space for some reason, maybe for running purposes. So when its formatted u shud end up with maybe 800mb-950mb free. Bit rubbish but thats how they are.
