Can these xfx 7600gts work in sli???
Posted on June 30th, 2008 in Hardware |
Hi, basically I’ve one
XFX 7600GT XXX pv-t73g-udd3
and
XFX 7600GT XXX pv-t73g-ugd3
As you can see they are different models, im not really sure why,.. they’re both 256mb ddr3.
Could these graphics cards work together in sli mode? I’ve an gigabyte ga-m57-s4 motherboard.
Answer:
hi mate
the first answer is wrong, you can use different brands and variations of the specific graphic card, however the two cards still use the same 7600gt gpu and even better they’re from the same manufactuer
i believe the gigabyte gam57 mobo is sli enabled so there shouldnt be any problems,i have taken a closer look at the 2 cards in question and the udd3 version(http://img.tomshardware.com/us/2006/07/1… the same as the ugd3 version(http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51… only difference is the side plate on the udd3 card
however just to be sure heres the main specs for each card
core clock speed : both 590mhz
memory clock speed : 1.6ghz(udd3) ? (ugd3)
gpu : geforce 7600gt
memory size : 256mb
—————————————-…
the only spec i couldnt find is the memory clock for the udg version however if its not a oc(overclocked) version it will probally be the same (1.6ghz),however if its more you could allways underclock it using a program like “n-tune” or “coolbits” registry tweak
so i cant see a problem with this,i was allways told that as long as the card was the same chipset(i.e 7600gt) and the memory was the same then its fine, the only reason why most of us use the same style of card or purchase two of the same at the same time is mainly for cosmetic reasons, especially if you’ve a perspex window with 2 x cold cathode tubes,i mean you want you p.c to look good
any problems mate let me know
good luck dude !
Answer:
they work but sorry dude you can only go SLI on a nForce nvidia chipset motherboard.
