Tried to play a CD in my laptop but message comes up saying “No device installed” how do i get my CD player back ? am trying to rip a CD to my library but cant do it. Thanks again for help.

i can say that whether the drive is disabled or it is physically disconnected.

so enable it using device manager if using windows or contact the mnufacturer.ALSO GET YOUR DRIVES LENS CHECKED.

There could also be other possibilities such as the disc is protected, the disc is of a type that’s unreadable by that drive (this has happened to me with CD players that’ll not read old CD discs I assume it's something to do with their construction).
