Does dvd drive have an optiarc device with it.?

Cant burn audio files to cd-rw with wmp in windows xp, i look in device manager but it only shows the dvd-rom drive.
On my other personal vista it shows dvd-rom drive and a optiarc ATA device.
My query is, the reason i cant burn audio is because the optiarc device isnt there, right or wrong.
Thx you.
Answer:
If I comprehend the question correctly, you only have a dvd-rom drive on your windows XP machine. Usually drive functionality is written on the face of the drive itself (like DVD-ROM CD-RW etc). If you're using just a plain dvd-rom drive then you won't have write ability. To make sure, try finding out the make and model of the drive through your device manager - that normally tells you if you’ll have write ability as well.
