how can i find out what card is installed on my pc
Answer:
hi pauline
the quickest and easiest method of finding what graphic card you have on your p.c is to go to start>run>then type dxdiag…then press enter
when dxdiag appears press the display tab and there you will see the name and manufactuer of your graphic card
you can also see other information there including the cards video memory and its bios information, and depending on the version of windows you are running you can also run a series of diagnostic test ( this is why this is called dxdiag..symbolizes direct x diagnostic utility)
click on direct draw and direct 3d links to run a few swift tests to check your card is working correctly with the direct x api
for a more in-depth information download the utility “gpu-z” from http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/(downloa… link at bottom)
gpu-z will run directly from the file(no need to install) and this will give you a small dialog box with masses of inforation on your graphic card including
1) core clock speed
2) memory clock speed
3)memory bandwidth
4)pixel fillrate
5)texture fillrate
6)shaders
7)direct x version
8)bus interface
9)driver version
this is a excellent utiltiy and well worth the small download
any problems let me know
good luck pauline !
