I’ve taken use of my fathers laptop, but think that it has either a rubbish graphics card , or not one at all. how do i find out what card it has (if it has one) and can anyone suggest a good one to download?

Answer:
Each laptop has a graphics card……

to find out what graphics card it is click on:

begin menu, then click on run. Type dxdiag, then click on display.

there you’ll see what graphics card you are using.

For your second question, you can’t download a graphics card

but you can buy ViDock Gfx….read the whole article for details…

Answer:
hi mate

to begin with all computers(laptops or desktops) are required to have a graphics or video card to produce the display you see, however as with all laptops the cards they tend to use are not the best, especially with average laptops since manufactuers use intergrated graphic adapters to save money

to discover your fathers laptops graphic adapter/card you could use the dxdiag run command and then press the display tab, however a superior way is to download the excellent utility called “gpu-z” from http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/Sys… downloading this you simply run this from file(no need to install) and a box will then appear with a array of information including your graphic cards/adapters

1)name

2)model

3)driver

4)core cloclk speed

among others !

this utility will give you all the information you need to know about your graphic adapter, and from the information discovered you can download the latest driver for your specific card

also you should download the latest DirectX® End-User Runtime from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai…

with both updated video drivers and updated DirectX® End-User Runtime you should see a marked improvement in your graphics performance

any problems let me know

good luck mate !
