Ideal Internal and External HDD for PS3 ?
Posted on September 21st, 2008 in Hardware |
Hey I'm looking to slap in a HDD in to my PS3 when I go to the shops to get one what should I make sure it has ect. What’s the biggest possible size and does the size of the HDD affect heating Im guessing not. Also I heard 7200rpm can cause overheating Is there any decent HDD that wont cause overheating but I can get the best possible HDD, I don't really have a limit to what I can spend.
As for External I want to get an Even More massive HDD than the Internal So I have the ability to back up the PS3 and In the future a PC coming in at about 1TB and a 2nd PC coming in at 80GB, Id also Like a good amount of space left over. Whats the Best External Hard Drive for the PS3 ? Keeping in mind the Computer. I remember hearing it had to have its own power supply but what are other requirments.

What about 10000rpm 300gb? Are you positive it won't Overheat my PS3 or in turn Overheat itself? Report Abuse
Answer:
Hmmm i wouldnt go over 7200rpm drives for a games console, they wouldn’t make a single bit of difference in the gameplay so why bother spending the cash on one.? the graphics in a console just couldt keep up with one of them. Report Abuse
