I have to switch whole thing off on wall and start up again and its ok then. Drives me mad!

How can you shut down your computer “properly” if the keyboard and mouse are not working? I sometimes have the same problem but with my monitor not coming on at begin up, so have to switch off and on again to wake it up and am interested to know the fix.

By what you’re saying, are you shutting down and starting your computer properly, or are you just switching it of by the socket and turning it on the same way?

If so, you are corrupting the boot up sequence by doing it.

Are any of your parents or grandparents Welsh? This guy in Computer World told me that can make keyboard and mouse do funny things like boyo.
