I already have always on broadband and a computer and i'm wondering if i can make it wireless so i can use my laptop aswell. my laptop has wi fi.

if cable/dsl modem is multi-port and wireless capable then you can. otherwise, you’ll need to buy a wireless capable router.

disconnect pc from modem and connect cable to router. connect cable from router to other pc and test if ok. if everything is working properly disconnect pc and connect laptop to ensure that there’s no problem connecting laptop. if everything is fine, reconnect pc and configure/reconfigure laptop wireless connection. note: you may or may not need password/passkey to connect to your home network.

yeah, just go to any computer store and purchase a wireless router. You plug the ethernet cord from your broadband modem into the router. Then you run another ethernet cord from the router to the desktop pc, and the router will be broadcasting the signal for your laptop.

Make sure you secure the wireless connection with a password, or else your neighbors can use your signal. This would slow down your connection, plus if the do any illegal downloading it could be traced back to you.
