Hi yahoo'ers

I need help with my wireless adpater, its supposed to be a good 1 because i spent over 70 bux on it, it has a max speed of 125mbps etc…. it has all the modern stuff like the 802.11 thingy.

Problem is it has a 400 ft range and the wireless network i connect to i would state is about 380 or so ft away from my bedroom, so as you might now know my wirless speed is crap, im posting this question currently at 1mbps, is there a software that can amplify wireless connections or anything else that i can do that wont involve buying stuff….

My personal specs are currently..

2.0ghz cpu (stock) maximum overclock 2.9ghz

amd athlon

2gb of ram 350watt psu

and a ati radeon 9600 agp 8x graphics card.

if that helps…..

any recommendations…

the wirless adapter is a belkin high speed adapter.

thx everyone.

Well, there are ways to add antennas (with a tiny more gain) to your system. One I had to laugh at, but it works, is this one

or this one similar

There are hundreds of articles on adding superior coverage for USB adapters.

No software will add more gain to the system,, its a hardware issue period. You need a better antenna than what you’ve. You can add a higher gain one on the router, or on your computer but either way its relatively easy — you need more SIGNAL. without it, you’ve slower connections.
