I maintain a site written using above and one page size 25kb takes 15 secs to download on 1st visit. Other pages inc one that is 45kb take 1-2 secs. Any ideas?

Well, it might be a DNS issue, depending where you sit. :-)

OR

You can try making a copy of the page then deleting the navigational menus and see what happens.

are they stored in the same location? does the page have any external content its loading from elsewhere, such as an image, adsense etc?
