Go to the Norton website and download and install the removal tool. When you run the program you will be given a list of Norton utilities from which you can select the program you wish to uninstall.

You may have to run the tool in Safe Mode. To get into Safe Mode, reboot and then either hold down or tap the F8 key repeatedly while the personal is starting up.

The first line of defense is to do a standard uninstall via the Add or Remove Programs control panel item. Unfortunately, Norton/Symantec stuff has gotten sloppy lately in this area, so much so that the website itself has a Remove All utility.

This utility removes (or purports to remove) ALL Symantec stuff on the machine, so if you decide to use it, be prepared, with disks and registration codes, to reinstall other things.
