Downloaded a torrent thinking it was a video file but it was a .rar file with cbr files in it, something to do with comic books or something..I'm just interested how do you open cbr files.

According to the Wikipedia it depends on the file format which is usually something any decompression program can handle. I’ve two on my desktop which according to Ark (I'm on Linux so that's my decompression program) are rar files.

The relevant paragraph is:

The Comic Book Archive format is an often uncompressed archive which uses one of several popular compression file formats. The files might be opened using the appropriate compression program simply by changing the file extension, depending on the file format:

* .cbr →.rar

* .cbz →.zip

Rare:

* .cb7 →.7z

* .cbt →.tar

* .cba →.ace

Comic Book Archive files usually consist of a series of image files, typically PNG or JPEG files. Occasionally GIF, BMP, and TIFF files are seen.

It also lists readers for your OS but I've never bothered with any.

I use an image viewer with an “open with……” while press [shift] right click on it.
