also would i have to activate it again
Answer:
Its a legitimate copy so you can install it again on another computer, When you install a copy of XP it always need to be activated. Thru the World wide web or by Phone in case it won't be possible in the Internet.
If you activate it by phone and the operator will ask only the product key and will assign an activation number different to the first activation.
Answer:
If you purchased a retail copy of XP Pro, you can install it on any one machine at a time. If you uninstall it and put it on the other machine you should be fine - you’ll need to activate it as the activation code is machine based - depends on things like network card, optical drive, hard disk, motherboard etc.
If you purchased an OEM copy, you might not be able to activate it again as according to Microsoft, the licence dies with the machine it was originally installed/activated on.
However, I understand that some people have had success in getting an activation number by doing some begging on the phone. (eg “My motherboard had died and I urgently need my coursework off this computer …..”)
“XP OEM license is between the OEM and the end user and that the product is typically licensed for use with the hardware or Computer on which it was first installed. “
Answer:
i believe that you’re granted to have it on two machines for your own private use. Ring microsoft and they will tell you if its ok and how to do it.
